Hui Wen Mok

2020 - 2025

Hui Wen joined the community sector in a special school at the end of 2020. She was keen to explore care for children with physical disabilities outside of a hospital setting.

After completing her Masters of Science (MSc) in Advanced Physiotherapy: Paediatrics at the end of 2022, Hui Wen continued working with students with multiple disabilities. During her time in the UK, Hui Wen also became a certified Halliwick instructor for teaching people with physical and learning disabilities swimming. She conducted individual and group hydrotherapy lessons for her students, allowing them to experience the joy of mobility in water.

Apart from working with students in individual and group settings, she also initiated and conducted a yearly Sports Day event in collaboration with the Physical Education (PE) teachers. The 6 F words of childhood disability - Function, Friends, Fun, Fitness, Family and Future are what inspires Hui Wen as she continues to support clients under her care.

2018 - 2020

Hui Wen continued to expand her clinical skill set in the management of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis and develop a clinical guideline for Scientific Exercise Approach to Scoliosis (SEAS) for NUH paediatric workgroup. During her time in NUH, Hui Wen was also a clinical supervisor for physiotherapy students from Nanyang Polytechnic and Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

In addition to her clinical duties, she provided clinical mentorship for junior physiotherapists to support their journey as a paediatric physiotherapist.

2016 - 2018

With a team of neurologists and an occupational therapist, Hui Wen visited several leading rehabilitation centres in Canada in 2016. Upon return, Hui Wen worked with her team to develop new service initiatives, including hypertonia clinic and concussion rehabilitation.

To support paediatric neuro-rehabilitation in NUH, together with an occupational therapist, Hui Wen developed and conducted a modified constraint induced movement therapy (CIMT) holiday programme in December 2017 and 2018.

2013 - 2016

Hui Wen graduated from SIT-TCD (Singapore Institute of Technology - Trinity College Dublin) in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science (Physiotherapy). Upon graduation, she joined National University Hospital (NUH) Singapore where she worked with the adult population for almost 2 years before she joined the paediatric workgroup.

During her time in NUH, Hui Wen worked with a range of paediatric clients, from premature babies to adolescents with sports injuries. She was also involved in various multidisciplinary clinics such as adolescent weight management and neuromuscular disease clinics.
