Ingyin Boan

2022 - 2025

Boan relocated to Singapore to explore its advanced and technology-driven healthcare system. She started working as a therapy aide in a community healthcare sector/ Singapore Christian Home with her primary focus on paediatric cases.

She discovered a unique and meaningful connection with children with special needs, and this- combined with her passion for helping others, became the driving force behind her commitment to learning more about paediatric physiotherapy. This experience enriched her understanding of child-centred care and empowered her to adapt physiotherapy techniques to support the diverse needs of younger patients in a residential setting.

Through reading more to provide better quality care, she now has a deeper understanding of the importance and value of evidence-based practice in healthcare. The passion to provide interventions with proven results has driven her to join Healthy Strides Singapore as a Therapy Assistant.

2019 - 2021

While waiting for her government service posting, Boan started volunteering as a physiotherapist in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in Yangon General Hospital, where she was assigned to the same ward by the government.

During her service years, she gained experience in delivering interventions to a diverse range of patients from walk-in clients seeking pain management to those requiring inpatient neuro-rehabilitation and ICU support. She participated in educating the public about respiratory care and management during the COVID-19 pandemic.

2014 - 2019

Boan pursued her Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy in University of Medical Technology (Yangon), during which she was honoured as Best Student of the Year in the Department of Physiotherapy in the year 2018.

In March 2019, she had the opportunity to join the Cross-Cultural Interdisciplinary Case Study hosted by the Kitasato's University, Japan.

Driven by a deep passion for helping others, she actively sought out opportunities to serve during studying; volunteering as medical cover for both campus sport events and international competitions, where she went through Natural Disaster and Emergency Response Training and strengthened the ability to response quickly and effectively.

She graduated from the University with a Bachelor of Medical Technology: Physiotherapy in October, 2019.
